I am primarily a pastel painter and prefer the medium to others because of it’s portability, immediacy in handling, and purity of pigment. With pastels, I enjoy pushing color as far as possible while still maintaining a sense of believability.

Since the mid 1990s I have been venturing out doors to create my images, and I now have access to thousands of acres in the south eastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware regions. I’ve also painted in Maine, Utah, and Ireland.

My still life work consists of colorful images that combine Fiestaware dishes with pastries and other delectable edibles.

I teach pastel painting at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, and I also conduct classes and workshops in my studio near Aston, PA. Classes are popular and sizes are limited, so please keep an eye on the site for information.
