This painting was created on sight at The Woodlawn Trustees Park in New Castle County, Delaware. I repeatedly painted here in the summer of 2003 to prepare for an exhibition and was struck by the peacefulness and variety of views this preserve provides. Much of the park is situated along the Brandywine River, a shallow body of water that floods often after heavy rains.
