This is a small gentlemans farm located in northern Delaware that I used to pass by frequently when I lived just over the boarder in Kennett Square, PA. After an extremely hot and dry summer in 2002, the harsh conditions devastated many local crops that season. However, this particular field of soybeans survived to yield a glorious spread of brilliant orange ochre in September. That color, contrasting with a nearly clear blue sky, made for an image not to be ignored. |
