Simplicity of palette and composition drew me into this scene. This is basically a three-color painting; blue, green, and red, with red starring as the most developed of the three. Form development is concentrated also in this area of most complex color, creating an active band of color and movement sandwiched between two relatively inactive yet supporting fields, the sky and ground. Sometimes “undressing” a subject will bring to light it’s clearest meaning.
