This is one of several paintings I completed depicting the lush open country of Unionville, PA. There are a select number of images that I have created solely from photographic reference and this is one of them. I feel it’s success lies in the fact that I had painted an earlier piece on sight so, I not only had that image done from life but a memory of the location and light conditions which enabled me to accurately depict the weightiness of the air on this humid autumn afternoon.
