These falls are located in Ridley Creek Sate Park near Media, Pennsylvania. A sprawling 2,600 acre sanctuary for wildlife and outdoor recreational activities, the park is as rich in history as it is vast. The entire property was formerly owned by the Jeffords family who built an impressive mansion in 1914 around the original stone farmhouse from 1789. I have spent many hours jogging along the 12 miles of trails in the park and, on numerous occasions, have witnessed the beautiful play of light and shadow along the banks of Ridley Creek, represented here in this image.
