In July of 2003, I had the pleasure of painting for two weeks in Northwest Ireland in a valley called Glencolumcille. These headlands, known as Glen Head, hug the coast and greet travelers as they enter into the valley on their way to the town, Cashel, known for its folk village museum and school for Gaelic speaking.
During a rare sunny day, I was able to capture the rugged face of Glen Head in brilliant light as it guards the entrance into the cove against a series of passing cumulous clouds. One day, I hope to return to this welcoming place and render its endless variety of moods and moments. |
