On a picture perfect day in Maine, I spent the morning in search of my next muse and happened upon Scarborough Marsh, just south of Portland. This state-protected watershed is Maines largest and best known salt marsh covering 3,100 acres. This is one of the first images in which I was able to successfully push color beyond merely what I had observed. In this somewhat limited-palette image, purple is featured prominently in the water, balanced by compliments yellow and orange in the upper grasses, while green supports the entire ensemble. |
